Bismuth Subsalicylate
«

I read here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bismuth_subsalicylate#Decomposition
about producing a shiny metal oxide slag after burning Pepto-Bismol completely with a blowtorch.
I tried to replicate their results, and could not do so. Does anyone have any suggestions for producing results like theirs from this process?
Thanks,
Joe

The article in question has a reference, but in case you can't access that document, here's a YouTube link:

My data pipe is too metered for me to waste on a video download, but the context of the comments leads me to believe the video is legitimate. Note, they start with the tablets, instead of the liquid, and they post that the metal content of the medicine is pretty low.

Wow. That is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you very much for your expedient reply! Have a mole snack! I'm not sure what that is yet, but it sounds like it would be a good thing!
