Calculating Grams
« on: April 02, 2012, 10:59:08 PM »
This is my calculation problem for my lab: Calculate the grams of NaOH needed to prepare 100. ml of 0.50 M solution.

M = (# of moles in solute) / .1 L
# of moles in solute = .05 mol NaOH

.05 mol NaOH * (40 g NaOH / 1 mol NaOH) = 2 g NaOH

Am I on the right track?

Thank you in advance for any advice!  :)

Yes. What you've done is correct.
