Gas pressure question
« on: June 05, 2012, 04:09:28 AM »
Hello!

I have (probably) very simple question for you experts here.

Let's say we have a container with fixed volume and is strong enough - does not change volume under high pressures. We begin to fill it with gas ... at some point, a part of the gas in the container turns into liquid. Let's say we stop filling the container when it has 50% liquid and 50% gas in it. Now the question - if we let a some gas out of the container, so there will now be 25% liquid and 75% gas in the container, does the gas pressure drop or not?

Saturated vapor pressure is only a function of temperature.
