PCy3 will convert immediately to Cy3P=O on exposure to air [STREM says it is just air-sensitive; not pyrophoric unlike PMe3]. The oxide is much less soluble in hexanes: so you devise a procedure using Schlenk techniques.

PS: Follow by IR Me3P=O ν(P=O) = 1176; Ph33P=O ν(P=O) = 1190 cm^-1;
Cy3P=O should be be air-stable (Ph3PO is a rock!) Recrystallized from minimum
CH2Cl2/hexanes (freezer).

Thank you so much cheese (MSW)
then I would be in the box PCy3 oxide that does not rust, so I have to separate them by a recrystallization true? . Lacking CH2Cl2/hexanes (freezer) as an alternative to what can I use?
