Compressed Air for Gas Chromatography

For compressed air for Gas Chromatography, is it necessary to use purified grade compressed air or will industrial grade compressed air be alright?

That would really depend on what's in the industrial grade air.  I'd suspect, for various batches, there would be too much hydrocarbon impurity in the tank to run a GC.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

It also depends on the sensitivity you are trying to achieve. I am working at 1-10 ppm levels using FID detector. "Medical Grade" compressed air is sufficient for my application.
