Plotting a spectrum ?
« on: July 05, 2012, 03:24:15 AM »
Well the standard definition of elemental radiations seen as spectral lines is, a plot of intensities  of constituent parts of radiation emitted or absorbed by a substance against their wavelength, frequencies and wave numbers in the increasing order.Does that take a form of a graph or something? If yes then how? If no then what it is? (Examples with Visible spectrum into consideration will certainly be appreciated :))

You're going to have to give an example of some sort ... its hard to understand what you're really asking.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking in your question. Are you asking how a spectrum is plotted in UV/Vis spectroscopy?
