I would like to know about a conjugation reaction between an organo-bromine (-Br) and an organo-hydroxy (-OH) compound;basically to form a C-C linkage :
C - Br   +   C - OH  --->  C - C  +  HOBr
Any such reaction(steps,conditions,reagents,rate,yield,etc) and any journal references for this ?

These are the most common Williamson's Syntheses: the third one is absolutely the most useful.
Do you want also its detailed mechanism? I think you can easily work it out.
