Determination of Lanthan content in different solutions
« on: August 22, 2012, 08:58:10 AM »
Hello to everyone!

I have problems with determination of Lanthan content in following solutions:
Solution 1: prepared by disolving of 133g La(NO3)3 in 1L of water

Solution 2: prepared by disolving of 86.90 g LaCl3 heptahydrate in 413.1 ml water

I have tried to calculate the molar mass and similar, but I still don't know how to calculate it. :P

Please, help.

Regards,

Manja

Well, when you used the molar mass of each (and similar :D ) -- what did you get?  You have different amounts of two salts, each with very different molar masses, so, what do you get?  Or what did you think you got?  Or, how did you calculate?
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
