Cleaving the double bonds in soybean oil
« on: August 24, 2012, 11:12:55 AM »
Is there any way to cleave the double bonds in soybean oil without removing the glycerol?  I know that ozone can be used, but it is too expensive to produce and not very safe.  I've looked around for other reactants, but everything seems to interact with the glycerol first.  Thanks!
