It looks ok if not a bit long. I doubt if the di-aldehyde actually exists it probably reacts with aniline and then the second acetal hydrolyses.
However, this is really semantics, but your proposal is quite reasonable.

In the reaction, it is very much a "directed" reaction such that the acetal was give sufficient time to hydrolyze before adding the aniline.
