water filteration methods
« on: June 22, 2012, 04:10:40 PM »
Hi, Currently I'm a trainee at a surgical glove production plant. I'm given a project to reduce the water consumption of the plant which consumes 2500m3 per day. There are a lot of leaching tanks they are highly contaminated with various chemicals. But however there are also post oven leach tanks. Contamination of these tanks are very low compared to leaching tanks. So, I'm planning to reuse this water & I need to know parameters that I have to check in water in order to apply filtration method.
If you guys can help with this that will be a great help

Questions a bit vague but here's some:

Start with pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total Suspended Solids, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD).

These are basic tests. They absolutely will not assure you of suitability to your application. OTOH, if any of these are "bad" (whatever that means), you almost surely have a problem.

Think, necessary but not sufficient.
