« on: September 20, 2012, 06:56:23 AM »
Hi

What would the name of this compound be, it looks like this: http://www.chemsynthesis.com/base/chemical-structure-24502.html

except it doesnt have the methyl inbetween the ring and the C=O group
Cant find it anywhere.

Thanks.

According to the merchant's site, that compound is ethyl 2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propanoate.  How would you change the name to reflect the changes you'd make to the structure?  Where is the methyl group you propose removing in the name provided?  How would you change the name?
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
