Monomeric vs Dimeric

What is exactly meant by monomeric and dimeric derivatives? I tried googling it but I couldn't find a relevant picture.

I know a picture is worth a thousand words so I was wondering if anyone has a picture of a monomeric vs dimeric compound/derivative?
