Hallo cf,
I am a mechanical engineer and hence have knowledge on basics topics of chemistry which I studied some 6 years ago. Hence, bear my questions plzz.
I would like to determine the required mesh size of RO membranes, for which I need to know the molecular size (I believe it's molecular size) of the solute. Now assuming that NaCl is the solute and water as solvent, how can I determine the molecular size of NaCl. According to the solvation shell, the NaCl is supposed to be bonded by molecules of solvent. Any suggestions on how to determine the size of solute bonded by solvent.
Also, it is possible that I can remove partly or completely any salt that is dissolved in solvent by RO process?
Regards
