carbon dioxide molecule length?

How do we calculate the length of the carbon dioxide molecule? If there is a gas of CO2, can we calculate changes in the length of the molecules as temperature of the gas increases?
I found the bond length but this is obviously not enough.

You can calculate the bond length of carbon dioxide molecule by studying its IR-spectrum. Just vary the feed temperature of carbon dioxide into the IR-spectrometer.
