A Question about Solubility

Consider a substance soluble in ethanol and not in water (like curcumin). If we prepare a solution of this in ethanol and then dissolve the solution in water, what would happen? Would the substance just precipitate or would it form an emulsion or something like that since ethanol is soluble in water?

It depends of the ratio alcohol and water. You would get a turbidity point and then a precipitation. Emulsion you can have with liquid substances.

Thanks. I've been thinking about this for a long time now. So if the ratio of alcohol to water is high enough, both the water and the substance should be soluble.
