Make artificial odor of real "thing"
« on: November 07, 2012, 01:17:38 PM »
Hello Chemical Forums guys!

First of all I am new here, big hi and sorry for any mistakes and misunderstandings.

I came here because of the question I can't find the answer and one friend of mine told me there is one great forum I can try my luck.

In the end of month in school we have a bio project on "misleading happenings". I am little embarrassed of my idea, but without personalism I try to state what I plan to do.

In one room where you can enter it I want to spread the odor of feces. My task is, that I can't use the real thing, but I have to make an artificial smell of feces.

Question is, what possible ways can You imanage to accomplish that? Maybe there are some combinations of chemicals which smell the same way or any other alternative ways? I need that in liquid.

Thank you so much for any response and excuse me for this specific question.

The type of an odor I am looking probably will be banned in this fragrance device.

Does anyone have more ideas about my issue?

They're going to let you do this at school?

I second skatole. I recently had the misfortune of finding an old bottle of it in the back of a cupboard in the lab. It will do the job you want, it's horrible.
