Hi guys, could you check my work on this question? It's been a while since I did stoich.
Problem: Chlorine is prepared by combining manganese dioxide with hydrochloric acid to produce manganese chloride, chlorine gas and water. How much HCl will be needed to produce 3.25 mol of water?
Process: Balanced equation: MnO2 + 4HCl = MnCl2 + Cl2 + 2H2O
Mole ratio HCl to H2O: 4:2 or 2:1.
4/x = 2/3.25
x= 6.5 mol.
Is that correct?
