Cheers Chem forums, first time poster here!
Came because I am looking for advice about making my own cream and this place seems like a friendly, active and very learnt place to solve my doubts.
So my granddad is a beekeeper, 96 yo. the fella, and for this x mass I want to present him some self made cream that incorporates honey bee. Looking in the net I found this vid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qmlHtt7cyhwSeems legit enough, and in case your Spanish is rusty here's what it says:
Ingredients:
Glyceryl monostearate
Stearic acid triple pressed
Isopropyl ether
Propylparaben
Triethanolamine
Sorbitol
Methylparaben
Distilled water
Bee honey
Procedure:
1 - Mix the Glyceryl monostearate and the stearic acid triple pressed
2 - Add the isopropyl ether and Propylparaben
3 - In a separate bowl mix Triethanolamine and Sorbitol
4 - Add Methylparaben and distilled water
5 - Heat both mixes in the over till they reach 60º-70º C, keep mixing till you get an even mixture then take them out of the heat.
6 - Mix both together, keep mixing untill they reach 30º C and add the bee honey. Mix untill the whole thing is even.
The thing is that it doesn't say snuff about the quantities, and I would like to skip the guessing work. So...
a) Can anyone give me an estimate of how much of each one would make a good body cream?
b) Does anyone have suggestions to make the cream better or to make different kinds of cream? (A UV cream and a facial one would be nice for him)
Hopefully this is the right forum for this question, and if not... anyone knows the right one?
Thanks guys! I hope you can clear my doubts and I will be able to post about how it goes later!
