After synthesizing silver nitrate crystals I dissolved them back into de-ionized water and slowly warmed until evapouration. What I have now is a consistency and colour (pure white) that resembles soggy calcium carbonate after precipitation. I did not expect this. Upon trying to find images I noticed many reference to the extra fine purity? of AgNO3 and its powder-like consistency. Is this what I have maybe?
I should add that I just decided to apply a final heat to the substance and evaporated almost to dryness, I now have a very very fine crystal structure, is this how it should be?
