Strange valencies!!!
« on: January 07, 2013, 11:49:15 AM »
Zn has a valency of 2+ and it's atomic number is 30 and Fe(ll) has a valency of 2+ as well and it's atomic number is 26. It means Cr and Ni should be in inert form!

All these elements Zn, Cu, Fe, Cr and others are d-elements and have one oxidation number beside others of +2, because of the 4 s2 orbitals.
