First Law of Thermodynamica
« on: January 10, 2013, 08:37:07 PM »
I have some problem for the follow question

(i) Imagine you have a vessel of volume V1 containing an ideal gas at temperature T1. You place this vessel in a colder room of temperature T2. The vessel’s temperature starts to drop.

(ii)In part A, if you subsequently compress the gas in a reversible manner using a piston until it reaches a smaller volume V2, and you make sure that during this process there is no temperature change.

How to consider to the signs for those two system’s
Q, w, and λE(change in internal energy of a system)
