Aldol addition to triple bond
« on: January 17, 2013, 11:53:38 PM »
What is the mechanism to this reaction?

I know the smaller aldol, the one with the phenyl, is turned into an enolate by the base, but I cant see how this reaction could possibly go after than. I'm pretty sure it has to add tot he triple bond, but after that im lost.

thx
