So I am working on a project where I am trying to figure out a solution to removing salt, iron and magnesium from 600 metre bore wells.

I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas or knows of any processes that work in removing these impurities. Explanations on how a process works or useful links explaining a process that can do this would be very helpful.

There are commercial water softeners that exchange sodium and chloride ions for other ions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_softener  For removal of sodium chloride, there are other water softening resins, or you can use reverse osmosis or distillation.
