urobilins pigment

Hi is it possible to remove the urobilins pigment from your urine using any type of chemical or a combination of chemicals.This chemical would be added to the urine not ingested.

Can you start with the structure, and make an educated guess, given when you know regarding orgainic chemistry?  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urobilin

Doesn't seem too difficult, but might not be trivial for someone with no organic chemistry knowledge.  Why would anyone want to remove just the "color" from urine -- are you planning to hide a bult quantity from someone?

It was just an idea i had.its nothing illegal and if anyone knows the answer i could reseach into it.

Bleaches are usually pretty good at removing color. Hydrogen peroxide is probably sufficient for that compound.

Another possibility is to pass it through activated charcoal.

The British television program Brainiac: Science Abuse tested the urban legend that passing urine through a carbon filter would purify it adequately for ... gah ... drinking purposes.  As I recall, presenter Jon Tickle did pass urine through a typical water filtration pitcher, until all odor was gone.  I don't recall what happened next.
