Molar calculations
« on: February 15, 2013, 08:41:17 AM »
Hi

Could somebody please be kind enough and tell me how to work out the answer to this question.

If I have a 10mM solution, how many mg's (milligrams) are needed to get 10uM (Micromolar) in 1ml (milliliter). My project supervisor says there is way to work this out, you do not necessarily need to know what the solution is. Apparently the answer can be determined from understanding the ratios between the units.

I'm absolutely confused as to what this simple way is!

Many Thanks! (in advance!)

Alia

You need to assume something about the solution density.
