Tubing for condenser
« on: April 08, 2013, 02:18:09 PM »
I was performing distillations with a water pump recycling water in a bowl to my condenser. I was using vinyl tubing to connect the condenser to the pump and something began to happen. The inside of the bowl had gotten slimy and the pump was clogged. Upon further investigation i realized that my vinyl tubing had begun to dissolve off in really thin slimy sheets. This is probably due to the plasticizers so.....the bowl and the pump are definitely ruined and im wondering if water will get the plasticizers out of the outside of my condenser.

Either way i am in the need of some type of tubing that is completely non reactive with water and wont release plasticizers, any recommendations?
