I have attached the problem. B is the answer I marked but it is incorrect.
I approached it this way. Since KOH/I
2 is a good oxidising agent, it oxidises the alcholic group to carbonyl groups, and replaces -CH
2I and -CH
3 with -OH, as it happens in an iodoform reaction. So the answer is B but the key states that its D. I don't even have the slightest idea about how the reaction will yield D.
