Density in Concentration Problems

I've run into a question using density in solution chemistry. Is density just used as a conversion factor (meaning density is JUST g/mL) or does it only apply for solution (meaning density is JUST g solution / mL solution)? I hope my question is clear, sorry for any confusion.

Sorry, not sure what you are asking. Density is just a density - ratio of mass to the volume of a given sample of matter (no matter what the substance is nor what is its state of matter). Because of that when converting volume to mass it can be used as a conversion factor, but its applications are not limited to solutions.

That's actually pretty helpful. So I can use density as a conversion factor for solute's and solvents?

Please elaborate, I am not sure what you mean. Give an example of what you are trying to convert into what.
