the partial molar volume of two substances like water and NaCl is additive when they are in a mixture in their solid/crystalline structure. if they are in they are in a mixture in their aqueous state, then there partial molar volumes are only additive when the NaCl is infinitely diluted in the water. i want to compare the change in molar volume of NaCl from its crystalline state to its aqueous state. for doing this, would it be right to compare the molar volume of NaCl in its crystalline state to its partial molar volume when it is infinitely diluted?
please help. i searched a lot but was not able to get an answer.
