a "styrofoam cup" calorimeter percent error calculation
« on: February 20, 2006, 12:04:07 AM »
hey guys, wondering if someone could help me with my lab.

So recently we were asked to identify metals via specific heat capacities, and i decided to use a "styrofoam cup" calorimeter.  Everything seemed to work out great.

the only problem is that now that ive done the calculatons, i found that i have a huuuuge percent error (>300%), and i was wondering what could be the cause of this? i dont think its reasonable to say this is all because of the crappyness of the styrofoam cup...any suggestions?

thanks
