another question about methylamine..sorry if its annoying but this time i realy needed to ask.
it is possible to create methyl amine with ammonium chloride and methanol? i thought about it
heating up ammonium chloride with methanol, creating ammonia, hydrochloride and methanol gases
NH4Cl → NH3 + HCl
than the hydrochloride react with methanol.and in what i readed in wiki its working and even with or without a catalyst.
CH3OH + HCl → CH3Cl + H2O
and than the chloromethane is reacting with the ammonia gas to produce methylamine.i readed in wiki that the reaction between chloromethane and ammonia is used commercialy.
NH3 + CH3Cl → CH3NH2 + HCl
its also has many impurities like the methanol-ammonia reaction or it is more pure??.
what do you think?
