Energy intensive processes that go well with peak load

I am looking for ideas on energy intensive chemical production processes that suits well with variable availability of energy (peak load). Electrolysis or some kind of high temp furnace that could run for 8-10 months of the year and could be shut off/on without high level of complication.
Any ideas?

maybe. Or of electrolytic copper, aluminium...
Whatever the intermittent production is, you'll need a significant storage capacity, which is costly. That's more complicated with hydrogen.
