Hello everybody,

I arrived in UK recently and have been trying to set up. However, I'm surprised by high delivery charges. For instance a small bootle of certain reagent is £6.50 and the delivery charge £12.50! I do realise thet some chemicals require special precautions during transportation, but I just can't afford things when delivery costs twice as much as the product itself.
Could you guys help with names of shops / warehouses in or around London, where I can get things "of-the-shelf" avoiding ridiculous delivery charges?

Chemical suppliers generally charge £12.50 or more... if they have to ship with a courier they have to consider special packing etc.

I would recommend www.abbey-chemicals.co.uk - a UK Chemical supplier with quite a good selection of laboratory chemicals.

You can always call up if you can't find the chemical you need
