Information about synthesis of azo dyes

Hello, I would like to find information about the synthesis of azo dyes, I know about diazotization and coupling but I just can't find specific information about them (conditions, proportions), any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Vogel's Textbook of Practical Organic Chemistry , has a chapter on this. Your library should have at least one copy in stock.

I've used a Mills reaction to generate unsymmetrical azo dye-type compounds: generally it was just a matter of mixing the parent aniline and nitrosoarene in acetic acid.  Pretty easy, and you don't even need UV to visualize the TLC... ;)
