I had reacted 4-Clphenylpiperazine with chloromethylpyridine derivative. upon running the 1HNMR, the piperazine protons appeared as only one sharp singlet signal corresponding to 8H. Is it possible for the 4 CH2 groups of piperazine to appear as only one singlet

I would be surprised if this were the case, they are non-equivalent on either side and nitrogen heterocycles in my experience tend to be a bit of a messy multiplet. Sometimes these things can surprise you though if they are all overlapping. I can't see what other products would be formed in this reaction.

Could you post the data?
