Ionic bond with phosphorus is possible?
« on: November 01, 2013, 08:57:43 AM »
Hello, guys!

I would like to know if is possible to make an ionic bond between some metallic atom and phosphorus. If yes, what would be atoms?

Thank you.

calcium phosphide Ca3P2 does show the P3- anion, if memory serves, and usually is considered to be an ionic compound

@ AWK :

which of the two components in PCl5(s) - chlorine or phosphorus - do you consider to be the metal @laura.g.berger originally requested to be involved here?

just wondering...
