Hey!
Working on developing an Electro-polishing unit and have been using polypropylene fittings. I have been having some issues with leaking in the acid tank (sulfuric) due to a cracking bung. The leak from the polypropylene bung appears after several days of use. The acid is at a 70% concentration and is heated to ~77° C. Would a Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride bung be better suited for this application. I failed to find material data for CPVC or Polypropylene at those acid concentrations and elevated temperatures. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?
Thank-you in advance!
Regards,
John
