Nitrous Acid Reaction Verification

Hi! So here is the reaction for the nitrous acid test. I tried demonstrating the mechanism for the reaction below but I think I went wrong somewhere. Could someone please clarify where I went wrong. Beta-Naphthol should give an intense orange red colour after the reaction is complete.

It looks for me ok, only Cr I dont know why you wrote it beside the Nitrogens.

That was just put there to imply that a compound containing chromium reacts with the aryldiazonium ion.

No it's not, I think rather that someone meant to write "Cl" instead of "Cr."

No, it is only the counterion. Here is the crystal structure of the solid form:

As you can see, the chloride ions kind of stack in T-shaped configuration relative to the N-N bond.
