Schlosser Modification

The paper I have says using phenyllithium is the base to use.  It does not explain why.  Would you guys think using n-butyllithium could be used in its place?  Phenyllithium is less basic but it is negligible in my opinion.

What are your thoughts?

In the original publication Schlosser himself suggests phenyl lithium or butyllithium. So try butyllithium.

Agreed, give it a try! 
Quick wiki check looks like E. J. Corey used n-BuLi back in the 70's for the Schlosser Modification.

The paper does say that!! Awesome.  Wiley is being a huge pain in the butt with me being able to see the whole publication.  All I see is the procedure and he only says phenyllithium.  Thank you again for everything.

I saw the Corey work, but that is allylic alcohols.  Did not want to assume.

But hell, youre right! If Corey does it, it is gospel!
