Long-Chain Triglycerides (ie Olive Oil) and Medium-Chain Tryglycerides (ie Coconut Oil) are absorbed differently; LCT are absorbed/processed by the lymphatic system and bypass the liver, while MCT are absorbed through the intestinal tract/liver and eventually into the bloodstream.
Recognizing these key differences, how would a solution comprised of equal parts mixed Coconut Oil and Olive Oil change in molecular structure and ultimately how would this new structure would be processed by the body?
Secondly, in an attempt to combat conditions that cause excessive inflammation throughout the entire body (psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, others), which type of structure (long, short or hybrid) would most effectively deliver drugs with poor bio-availability(lipophilic).
I have a strong interest in solid-lipid nanoparticle research and would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
