I need the pKs for H2S in a water body containing Na,K,Mg,Ca,Cl,SO4,HCO3 with an ionic strength of 1.5 and 28 C°. It should be possible to calculate this according to the paper of Hearshey and Millero (1988), The pK1* for the dissociation of H2S in various ionic media (
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0016703788901834). It is also explained in the book chapter "The thermodynamics and kinetics of the hydrogen sulfide system in natural waters". (
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0304420386900034 ). However when i recalculate it in an excel spreadsheet, it does not work and other people did not succeed either. Is there a mistake in the paper? Also some values in the book chapter are different than in the paper. Can someone help me or does someone know a program which is able to do this ? The aim is to get out a spreadsheet where I enter degrees plus the ionic composition and it spits out the pKs1. Who is able to solve this?
