Ether/Epoxide Question
« on: February 15, 2014, 08:32:20 AM »
Hi everyone,
Could somebody help me out with this epoxide question? Hints to solving the problem and, not answers, would be wonderful.
Here's the problem, and the picture with the problem should be attached:
Epoxides can be formed by treating sigma-haloketones with sodium borohydride. Propose a mechanism for formation of the following epoxide.

Thanks so much for the *delete me*

What does borohydride do to ketones?
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

I suppose you could call it that.
What is the product from the reaction of a ketone with a borohydride?
