Not sure what equation to use...
« on: March 07, 2014, 05:42:00 PM »
I've been taking an online quiz and have gotten everything but two problems so far that I just can't figure out.  One is

"A solution is made by mixing 10mL 0.1M NaOH with 90mL of water. What is the pH of the solution?"

I'm not sure what equation I should be using, I've tried several but messed up somewhere as I haven't been able to get the problem right.

The seconds one is:

"Consider the peptide, NH2-SCIENCENERD-COOH. What is the charge at a pH of 7? "

This one I think I must be doing something wrong on the input for the answer.  Either that or I'm completely off but isn't the charge neutral?  Like Glycine?

Thanks to all who *delete me*

How acidic a solution is?  Or do you mean in equation terms.
