Hi everyone
Okay, so I hope I've posted this in the correct section...
I have a question regarding the nephelauxetic series for ligands in transition metal coordination chemistry: With regard to covalent bonding in a transition metal complex, how does the B value (Racah interelectronic repulsion parameter) change with greater covalent bonding?
I've been trying get a handle on this concept but just can't seem to. Help will be much appreciated!
