Energy released from phase change of water. Help?
« on: May 20, 2014, 01:16:04 AM »
Hello all,

First time posting on the Chemical Forums! Would love to get some help on this problem I got on my second midterm practice exam.

The problem is:

How much energy is released when 63.4 grams water at 61.2°C is converted to ice at -10.00°C?
Specific heat of ice = 2.10 J/(g°C)
Specific heat of water = 4.18 J/(g°C)
Heat of fusion = 333 J/g
Heat of vaporization = 2258 J/g
