E0 values in metals and time of discovery...plz help
« on: March 21, 2006, 06:44:24 AM »
Hi all,
So copper has an E0 value of +0.34
Compared with chromium at -0.74
And Calcium at -2.76

Copper was discovered earliest of course, with the others following...

Would anyone know how the E0 values of the metals relate to the time at which they were discovered?

Also, anything about the bonds of the metals that has an effect on oxidation/reduction?

Thanks for your help :D ???
