does the sodium or lithium carbanion of DMSO have to be made in situ or can you buy it?  Cannot seem to find in from aldrich.
If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the precipitate

You have to make it. Be careful with it.
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

I was just talking to my professor.  He said it is kind of a pain.  Getting rid of the DMSO and all.  I was reading an organic syntheses paper on making a terminal double bond via a Wittig.  They mention that using the DMSO anion and DMSO gives higher yields.

Was just wondering if its worth it.  Have to do some reading about it.

Thanks Disco.
