Synthesis question (Intro to organic)
« on: June 25, 2014, 04:40:17 PM »
Hello

these two questions seem to be really easy to my classmates only i find them challenging

so for the first one ( with chlroine) i would use oxidation, however, oxidation can only work on alkenes.

and the second one, I would create Gringard from the substrate, then MgBr would seperate ?

Any help would be appreciated!

Which oxidation?
So, which alkene do you need and how might you prepare it from the chloride given?

My research: Google Scholar and Researchgate
