Chair conformer chirality?
« on: November 16, 2014, 05:25:46 PM »
Is the following compound chiral or achiral? I thought the compound was achiral but I'm not sure if this is right. I didn't see any asymmetric centers to indicate chirality but maybe I wasn't looking at it correctly. Can someone help me out?

You're right, it's achiral.

You can draw a mirror plane right through the middle of it (bottom left to top right as drawn), so it must be achiral.
